Stella McCartney is a luxury lifestyle brand that was launched under the designer’s name in partnership with Kering in 2001. Stella’s approach to design emphasises sharp tailoring, natural confidence and sexy femininity. The brand is committed to ethical values, and believes the company is responsible for the resources it uses and the impact it has on the environment. It is therefore constantly exploring innovative ways to become more sustainable, from designing to store practices and product manufacturing. Stella McCartney offers women’s  ready-to-wear, as well as handbags, shoes and a children’s line. It has also developed eyewear and a woman’s fragrance.

Born and raised in London and the English countryside, Stella McCartney graduated from Central St Martins in 1995. Her signature style of sharp tailoring, natural confidence and sexy femininity was immediately apparent in her first collection and after only two collections, in 1997, she was appointed the Creative Director of Chloe in Paris and enjoyed great success during her tenure.
Stella McCartney then launched her own fashion house under her name in a partnership with Kering luxury division, showing her first collection in Paris in October 2001. A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs and is committed to finding luxurious and stylish alternatives to these materials.
Her collections include women’s ready-to-wear, accessories, lingerie, eyewear, fragrance and kids and a long-term partnership with adidas was introduced in September 2004. In 2012, Stella McCartney, as Creative Director for Team GB, designed the Olympic Kit across all competitions for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Stella McCartney’s achievement in fashion and social awareness has been recognised on numerous occasions and in 2012 she received an Honorary Fellowship from the University of the Arts London. Stella McCartney funds a scholarship at Central Saint Martins for designers who adhere to her ethical view.
